Dear my most trustworthy friend Mary, my husband has been one of the men who chosen to fight in war against King George and his wretched army! It is a most terrifying and saddest day of my life! I am so sorry if your son or husband has gone to war! He is spending his last few days preparing for war. Yesterday I heard a knock on the door. When I answered it it was... John Adams! That's when I was excited. John Adams asked if he could speak to my husband. I told him he was out in the the field with my most kind voice I could choke out. While John Adams went talk to my husband I started to think about the things that led to this war, like the Boston Tea Party. The Boton Tea went a little over board, but at least it got the British to take off the taxes on tea. After John Adams left, my husband told me that he was randomly chosen to fight in war so we colonist can have our independence.Just like in Common Sense by Thomas Paine. I feel grateful for some of the things that led up to this war and I am also mad that happened!!!! One things I am happy that happened was the Boston Tea Party, because there are no more taxes on tea. The one thing I am mad about that happened was the Stamp Act, because the British started putting exspencive taxes on everything. Right now he is doing everything he ever wanted to do... Which would be pranking the British soldiers. Why can't there be just peace plain paece?!? Anyway what he did the last two days he went cliff diving, and pranking British soldiers. Don't ask me why he wants to prank British soldiers. I am feeling anger and RAGE about this WAR, because we are at the perfect spot in life and now this!! Then this war just appeared out of no where!! The war is interupting the perfect time in life. Please try to write back soon!
Your dear friend,
Shaylee

I see that you tried to add the elements of the assignment within your letter, but please remember, you must involve the actual person going to war. Don't just talk about him, talk to him. 85%
