The War, The End, Today, and The Future
Chapter 1
The Letter of the War
Here is the letter I wrote to my wife:
Dearest Shaylee,
This was the most horrifying experience in my LIFE!! First thing that happened is that happened during the war was that some men and I were in this small group that ambushed some of the small British groups. Some of the things I witnessed were indecent men being shot, our men AND their slicing and stabbing each other to the death. The things I smelt were disgusting. I smelt blood, decaying bodies gun powder, and smoke from fires. I barely survived the war. But this was just the beginning. Then the real war starts. It was like taking turns, so it was colonies shoot then the British shoot. I also witnessed peoples legs being torn right from under them by cannonballs. Now I think on July 4th I will think about how we won our freedom and celebrate like everyone else. There is going to be a WHOLE LOT of work to do thanks to the British armies. Luckily all of our sons our alive. By the way Mary sent that letter from her to me. I have one question why did you NOT mention our three sons? Anyway I have to get a job and you and the boys have to grow more plantation. We are going to use the money we have to get our land back and to be able to get the supplies we need to build a house.
